Lazy Day Ginger-Lime Punch

1 1/2 C. water
1 C. sugar
3 T. grated fresh ginger
1 6 oz. can frozen pineapple juice concentrate, thawed
1 6 oz. can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1 /2 C. lime juice
Lime and/or lemon, thinly sliced
Fresh ginger, thinly sliced

For ginger syrup; in a large saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and the grated ginger.  Bring just to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar.  Pour mixture through a sieve into a medium bowl or 4-cup glass measure; discard solids.  Cool for 1 hour.  In a large pitcher, prepare pineapple and limeade concentrates according to package directions.  Stir in ginger syrup and lime juice.  Serve in ice-filled glasses.  Garnish each serving with lime and/or lemon slices and ginger slices.
